My Kimora experience...

Kimora Lee Simmons ,Djimon Hounsou and AFI Chairperson, Dr. Precious Moloi Motsepe

On friday evening just before the first show , In walks International celebrity and style-icon, Kimora Lee Simmons and her husband, Djimon Hounsou right pass me.. Stunned, with my knees gone weak, and my fingers tingling of excitement!! Bam.. All my hopes of addressing her shattered, because of her four scary looking bodyguards following.
I was in awe of her presence... She looked like a real live doll. Due to my excitement I swiftly jump up, grab my camera and start running like Hussain Bolt after her.. I jump up and down trying 2 get a clear picture of her..but her well trained machine looking (head blocking ) bodyguard was in the way.. eventually we were asked to back off and stop taking pictures (shameful moment) ..As they gracefully made their way to the front row of the Lisp, Lalesso and Nucleus show.

I never gave up just yet ..just before the show ended I saw my girl Aisha Baker "www.bakedtheblog.com" and We thought of a "stalking strategy" to get the perfect shot of Kimora.. We ran from the main hall to the front door in 6inch heels, then we looked back stage..and still no success .. These are by far the best images we got.

*Its a night I will never forget and so won't my poor feet.. Sorry for the blisters Aisha lol but well worth it.*

My internship experience and CT Fashion week 2011

One of my main goals in 2011 was to work at fashion week. I emailed every address I could find on there website to try and get some sort of internship that linked me to fashion week. By some great chance my CV was sent to a PR agency that was involved with AFI . The agency owner called me and after meeting with her I got the job . My internship experience was amazing and taught me many things that I will carry with me forever .

Cape Town Fashion week 2011

The amazing and creative vibe of fashion week has inspired me to start "rock the runway" fashion blog. I was intrigued by the trendy styles and creativity of the socialites, make-up artists ,hair stylist and designers. With a full VIP access pass I had to share my experience with you all.
